Police Know This Man Is Hiding Something... G’day, Mate! Here’s the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Bathurst 12 Hour Special Edition You Can’t Have Chevy is making 12 cars to celebrate the Corvette Z06 GT3.R’s entry in the famous endurance race. Justin BannerWriterFeb 13, 2026 The Corvette has a long and storied 70-year motorsports history and has competed successfully in globally famous events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring, the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and many a production-based and GT racing series in between. But in all that time, one track and one very special race has been missing from its resumΓ©. Finally, though, 2026 marks the year that Chevy will take the Corvette Z06 GT3.R to Australia’s vaunted Mount Panorama Circuit to tackle the Bathurst 12 Hour. To make things even more exciting for Corvette fans, the automaker is marking the occasion with a special-edition production model. Here’s the bad news, however: The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Bathurst 12 Hour Special Edition will be ridiculously limited to just 12 examples and will be available only in Australia and New Zealand. To put it mildly, this is a huge gut punch for Corvette fans who are familiar with the famous endurance race and who respect the significance of the car competing in it. How It’s Equipped As for the hardware, this special 2026 Corvette Z06 will be built on the 3LZ Coupe and include the Z07 Performance Package. It will be painted in Switchblade Silver; Carbon Flash covers the carbon-fiber ground effects and rear wing as well as the exterior badges, trim, and mirrors. The roof is finished with clear coat to show off the ultra-lightweight carbon’s weave pattern. To signify the racing connection, the β€œJake” C8.R graphics package adorns the hood and rear quarter panels. You’ll also find an exclusive Bathurst 12 Hour decal that features an outline of the circuit. A set of 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Spider Black forged aluminum wheels cover blue brake calipers and are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires measuring 275/30 in front and 345/25 in back. Inside, the limited Z06 features Jet Black and Santorini Blue Napa leather on the Competition Seats with blue seatbelts. The rest of the interior uses carbon-fiber and Stealth trim pieces with special Bathurst 12 Hour build plates on the inner door jambs individually marked 1 to 12. There will also be extras included with the sale of the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Bathurst Special Edition like a custom artwork print, a Corvette GT3.R printed indoor car cover, and a Corvette Racing merchandise pack.
What Makes Bathurst Special? For people who might not be familiar with the track, Mount Panorama Circuit located in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia, is a special place for many racing fans thanks to its unique location. Most closed-course tracks incorporate natural rolling hills, and street circuits are primarily flat because most are located within city limits, but Mount Panorama is unique. That’s because it’s built on its namesake mountain, with tight walls and steep grades. The 571-foot climb and the speeds drivers see on the Conrod Straight are the circuit’s defining features and contribute to making the race such a wild event. And, yes, this is technically a street circuit as it’s a public road that’s closed during the races that occur on it every year. Chevrolet has not yet provided pricing or delivery date info, and it’s still finalizing some details about the car. But if you happen to live in Australia or New Zealand and you’re just now asking about getting your own 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Bathurst 12 Hour Special Edition, you’re probably already too late. In the world of high-performance automotive engineering and motorsports, few nameplates command the respect and reverence of the Chevrolet Corvette. With a heritage stretching back over 70 years, the Corvette has consistently defined American ingenuity in the pursuit of speed, power, and aerodynamic mastery. Over the decades, the brand has etched its legendary legacy into the annals of automotive history through its relentless participation in globally renowned endurance races. From the hallowed grounds of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring to the electrifying ambiance of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the Corvette has been a formidable presence, triumphing in various production-based and GT racing categories. Yet, amidst this storied history of motorsport triumph, one track and one signature race had remained conspicuously absent from the Corvette’s prestigious resumΓ©: the Bathurst 12 Hour. Nestled within the picturesque landscape of Mount Panorama, New South Wales, Australia, the Bathurst 12 Hour represents the pinnacle of GT3 endurance racing, a crucible where automotive engineering is pushed to its absolute limits. The challenges of this iconic circuit demand a unique blend of raw power, precision handling, and unwavering durability. In a landmark moment for motorsports enthusiasts and Corvette faithful worldwide, 2026 marks the year that Chevrolet finally breaks ground and conquers this challenging terrain. The American automaker is set to compete in the highly anticipated 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour at the legendary Mount Panorama Circuit with its all-new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R race car. To commemorate this momentous occasion, Chevrolet is releasing a limited-edition production model that pays homage to this historic endeavor. The Bathurst 12 Hour: A Testament to Engineering Resilience For those unfamiliar with this iconic motorsport event, the Mount Panorama Circuit is more than just a racetrack; it’s a destination. Located in the heart of Australia, it stands as one of the most breathtaking and challenging circuits on the planet. The landscape of Mount Panorama is etched into the collective consciousness of racing aficionados worldwide. The 3.86-mile (6.213-kilometer) circuit is characterized by its dramatic elevation changes, tight, technical corners, and the imposing presence of the Conrod Straight, the longest stretch of pavement on the track, where drivers achieve breathtaking speeds. The track’s dramatic topography features an arduous ascent of 1,742 feet (531 meters). This constant battle with gravity tests the limits of vehicle performance, requiring a delicate balance between engine torque and braking efficiency. The claustrophobic sections of the track, characterized by towering concrete walls and narrow passages, demand absolute driver precision and nerve. The high-stakes nature of the Bathurst 12 Hour stems from its endurance format, testing the resilience of vehicles and drivers over 12 continuous hours of grueling competition. The EngineeringMarvel of the Corvette Z06 GT3.R
As Chevrolet ventures into the Australian endurance racing arena, it does so with a vehicle purpose-built for this environment. The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R is a specialized racing machine derived from the street-legal Corvette Z06, but with extensive modifications and enhancements to meet the rigorous demands of GT3 racing. It incorporates advanced aerodynamic technologies, a highly optimized chassis, and a potent race-spec engine designed to deliver uncompromising performance in endurance racing conditions. Under the hood lies the heart of this beast: the 5.5-liter naturally aspirated LT6 V8 engine, renowned for its high-revving nature and exceptional throttle response. However, in GT3 trim, the engine undergoes further optimization, with power figures slightly adjusted to comply with specific regulations. The car’s chassis is engineered to withstand the constant forces of acceleration, braking, and cornering, ensuring precise handling and rider comfort throughout the race. The combination of the LT6 engine and the GT3-spec chassis creates a symphony of engineering prowess, perfectly suited for the challenges of Mount Panorama. The Elusive 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Bathurst 12 Hour Special Edition To commemorate Chevrolet’s historic participation in the 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour, the automaker has released a limited-edition production model that pays tribute to this achievement. However, for Corvette enthusiasts worldwide, this special edition comes with a bitter twist: it is ridiculously limited to only 12 units and will be available exclusively in Australia and New Zealand. This exclusivity has undoubtedly sent waves of disappointment through the global Corvette community. For fans who have closely followed the brand’s motorsport journey, understanding the significance of this event and the dedication it represents is paramount. The fact that this exclusive tribute is restricted to just two countries rather than being available globally has left many feeling left out and wishing for an opportunity to own this iconic piece of automotive history. Exclusive Features and Hardware As for the hardware, this special 2026 Corvette Z06 will be built on the 3LZ Coupe and include the Z07 Performance Package. This package is the ultimate expression of Corvette’s engineering prowess, incorporating cutting-edge aerodynamic and chassis components that deliver unparalleled performance. The Z07 package is available on the C8 Corvette Z06, and its features include lightweight carbon fiber wheels, performance brake pads, and aerodynamic components that enhance downforce and reduce drag. The exterior is painted in Switchblade Silver, a striking metallic paint that gives the Corvette an air of sophistication and sportiness. The roof is finished with clear coat to showcase the intricate weave pattern of the ultra-lightweight carbon fiber. The carbon-fiber ground effects, rear wing, and exterior badges are finished in Carbon Flash, a deep black that contrasts beautifully with the silver paint.
