The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Bathurst 12 Hour Special Edition: A Rare Beast for Global Racing Enthusiasts
The Chevrolet Corvette boasts a storied legacy, etching its name across the annals of motorsports for over 70 years. It has graced the hallowed grounds of globally recognized endurance spectacles such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring, and the Rolex 24 at Daytona. It has also carved a formidable reputation in various production-based and GT racing series. Yet, throughout this illustrious history, one legendary circuit and one particularly iconic race have eluded its pursuit.
Until now.
2026 marks the milestone year when Chevrolet extends its racing prowess to Australiaβs revered Mount Panorama Circuit to conquer the formidable Bathurst 12 Hour. To amplify the excitement for Corvette aficionados, the automaker is commemorating this historic occasion with a production model that carries a special-edition designation.
The Catch: Exclusivity in the Southern Hemisphere
However, there’s a significant caveat for enthusiasts. The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Bathurst 12 Hour Special Edition is an incredibly restricted release, limited to a mere 12 units. Furthermore, it will be available exclusively to customers in Australia and New Zealand. To put it mildly, this is a disheartening revelation for Corvette enthusiasts who appreciate the significance of the Bathurst 12 Hour and who respect the legacy of the car competing in it.

What Makes the Bathurst 12 Hour So Special?
For those unfamiliar with the Mount Panorama Circuit, it is a legendary destination in Australian motorsports, renowned for its unique location and challenging characteristics.

Defining Features: The climb of 571 feet and the breathtaking speeds drivers encounter on the Conrod Straight are the defining elements of the circuit, contributing to making the race an exhilarating event.
Nature of the Track: It is important to note that Mount Panorama is technically a street circuit, as it is a public road that is closed for races held annually.
