Man Calls Cops on Himself After $10 Deal Gone Wrong Apollo EVO: The Hypercar That Redefines Track-Day Obsession For those who find the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 lacks sufficient drama or the Aston Martin Valkyrie LM a bit too extreme, the Apollo EVO emerges as the definitive answer. Hailing from Germany’s Apollo Automobil, the minds behind the formidable Gumpert Apollo and the Apollo Intensa Emozione, the EVO is a breathtaking spectacle of aerodynamics. With its aggressive lines, sharp fins, and a distinct resemblance to a Star Wars fighter jet, the car appears to be moving at 200 mph even while standing still.
Engineered for Extreme Velocity Apollo states that the EVO is designed to outperform its static appearance. The hypercar is projected to reach speeds exceeding 208 mph, while achieving the 0–60 mph sprint in approximately 2.5 seconds. This engineering marvel was developed in collaboration with HWA AG, a renowned German motorsport firm celebrated for their acclaimed Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 EVO II tribute car. The heart of the EVO is an enhanced version of the 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V-12 engine borrowed from the Intensa Emozione. This powerhouse revs up to 8,500 rpm, delivering 800 horsepower and 564 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a six-speed Hewland sequential gearbox, operated by electropneumatic paddle shifters. The car’s chassis utilizes a state-of-the-art pushrod suspension system with adjustable struts, ensuring optimal handling and control. For stopping power, the EVO comes standard with carbon ceramic brakes measuring 15 inches in diameter at both the front and rear. It rides on center-lock forged alloy wheels, 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. However, for drivers prioritizing lap times, Apollo offers an upgrade to professional-grade steel brakes and 18-inch wheels fitted with Michelin race slicks. Lightweight Construction Meets Aerodynamic Dominance The intricately sculpted exterior is constructed around a newly developed carbon-fiber monocoque. This structure is 10 percent lighter than its predecessor in the Intensa Emozione, yet 15 percent stiffer, providing a superior foundation for performance. The Apollo EVO features a design philosophy characterized by extreme aerodynamics, incorporating numerous fins reminiscent of the 1958 GM Firebird III concept car. Notably absent is a traditional, oversized rear wing. Instead, the EVO employs an advanced active aerodynamics system. This system is anchored by a hydraulically actuated rear wing that deploys in under a second and continuously adjusts its angle of attack to optimize both aerodynamic balance and downforce. Apollo claims that at 200 mph, the aerodynamic system generates an astonishing 3,000 pounds of downforce, effectively exceeding the EVO’s curb weight of 2,900 pounds.
A Bespoke, Stripped-Down Interior Experience Inside, the Apollo EVO offers a raw, skeletal cockpit that prioritizes weight reduction and driver engagement. The interior is constructed almost entirely of carbon fiber and ultra-lightweight “bionic” aluminum structures. These advanced materials not only minimize weight but also efficiently distribute loads from the monocoque, significantly enhancing stiffness and occupant safety. The minimalist bucket seats are directly bolted to the monocoque, ensuring a solid connection to the chassis. A sliding pedal box allows drivers of varying heights to find a comfortable and ergonomic driving position. The compact steering yoke features grip geometry engineered for precise control, providing the driver with an intimate connection to the car’s performance. Exclusivity and Bespoke Customization Only 10 units of the Apollo EVO are being produced, with each car being fully bespoke and finished to the exact specifications of the individual owner. Pricing for this ultimate track-day hypercar starts at $3.5 million, subject to current Euro/USD exchange rates and applicable local taxes. The first EVO is already under construction and is scheduled for delivery in the first half of this year. The Apollo EVO represents the pinnacle of modern track-day hypercar engineering. It is a vehicle for those who demand uncompromising performance, cutting-edge technology, and a level of exclusivity that sets them apart.
Are you ready to experience the future of track-day hypercars? Explore the Apollo EVO and discover what’s possible when obsession meets innovation.
